The Lahani languages are those languages which are indigenous to Lahan, including the Lahiri and Sañuan, alongside many smaller families and language isolates.
This is a purely geographical grouping and does not indicate any relation between the various language families present. It does not include purely colonial languages widely spoken on the continent, such as Balak and Neviran, nor languages of more recent immigrants (see Languages of Lahan). Creoles based on indigenous languages may be included under the Lahani label.
The relatively small size and historical isolation of Lahan has lead to some areal features being common across the continent even among individual groups.
