The Yaxarhayutian Civil War (Yaharan: Dän Söbëc IPA: /dɑn ˈso.bɛs͢ʃ/) was a conflict erupting in the Kingdom of Yaxarhayut evolving out of the coup which overthrew King Danyl IV and replaced him with his older sister Queen Alandya II. The civil war, sparked by a wide series of policy changes involving the national language of the nation as well as the various rights of speakers of minority languages, resulted in the writing and signing of the Second Treaty of Yítsmä, which is commonly considered to be the foundational document of the modern Yaxarhayutian state.

Causes

The causes of the Yaxarhayutian Civil War arise out of long-standing policies regarding language and the rights of the common folk, as well as a series of events and reforms headed by Queen Alandya II. Most prominent of these are the May Coup and the Reforms of 1837. The May Coup replaced King Danyl IV with Queen Alandya II in a relatively bloodless military action in which troops loyal to the then Princess Alandya stormed the Grand Palace in Yítsmä, evicting Danyl and his retinue. In the immediate aftermath of the coup, King Danyl fled the city, and, retrieving a horse from a nearby blacksmith's, rode through the night to Tynda, and then took the ferry Idnxärä upriver and across Lake Vyaungodenhara to Yerverg, the capital of Upper Yahara, where he took refuge with his cousin, Grabrez of Celebrezstuw, the Duke of Celebrezstuverg. This flight was quickly put to use as propaganda to support the new regime, depicting the deposed King Danyl as a craven coward, as well as a traitor to the nation, having fled into a refuge with the long-term enemies of the Yaxarhayutian state. The Reforms of 1837, on the other hand, were spearheaded through the Chancel of Nobles by the then Chancellor insert person and designed by Alandya herself. The Reforms consisted of a series of laws revoking the status of Yaharan as the national language of the Yaxarhayutian state, and replacing it with Yennodorian. They also established a system of voting for Yennodorian speakers, but excluded Yaharan speakers, as well as
