Altūnwelēnīn is the westernmost state of Tuanmali. It is simultaneously the largest and the least densely populated state in the nation; despite an area of approximately 121,538 km2 (46,926 mi2), it has a population of just 291,692 as of 2013. Almost half of the state's population lives in the capital city Zhalu Weli in northeastern Altūnwelēnīn. The state lies entirely above 1500 meters above sea level.
