The 2022 Monyo general election is Yakormonyo's 22nd general election, and will be held on Tuesday, 18 October, 2022. During this election year, 116 of 226 council seats from twelve prefectures will be contested.
Background
Elections
116 of the 226 seats in the Federal Council of Yakormonyo will be up for election from the following prefectures, including one additional seat from the outgoing 21st Council:
- Antaka - 4 seats
- Asxata - 26 seats
- Atah - 3 seats
- Aukoau - 2 seats
- Hekionkur - 7 seats
- Ixahiri - 5 seats
- Kanioto - 3 seats
- Karaski - 2 seats
- Onioto - 8 seats
- Oron - 6 seats
- Sirion - 40 seats (+1 seat)
- Toxkaxa - 10 seats
As council members serve ten-year terms, the last scheduled elections for the second-set prefecture were in 2012. The resulting allocated seats for each party will be declared on October 23, 2022; and the chosen representatives will be sworn in on November 12, 2022, for the 22nd Council.
This election will be the first regular election in Asxata since it switched sets with Anakfa; likewise this will be the first regular second-set election where Anakfa is not contested.
