The flag of Vemou is the national flag of Vemou. It consists of a yellow circle representing the sun in front of two blue fields representing the sky, with green stripes representing rye fields in the foreground. The rye fields represent the agriculture of Vemou, which largely consists of growing rye. The flag is often referred to by its nickname "The Sunrise", especially within Vemou.
History
Vemou has had two flags since its independence from Mettat. The first was established in 1857, with the second replacing it in 2016.
First flag
The first flag of Vemou was enacted in July 1857, two months after Vemou gained independence from Laefevia. It was loosely based on the flag of Laefevia, borrowing the colours and central emblem from the flag.
Current flag
The current flag of Vemou was enacted on August 10, 2016. After the Vemou coup, the process for designing a new flag began. The new flag, designed by a graphic design team from the capital, was revealed on July 17, and officially came into use on August 10th.
