Kawuiian music is generally divided into two eras. The Isolationist Era is generally recorded from the arrival of the first inhabitants in the ~200-300’s AD, to the War of Unification in the mid-1700’s. This era is defined by heavy amounts of percussion and vocal instrumentals. The following era, most commonly called the Foreign Era, is defined by the incorporation of foreign instruments, most notably in the strings and woodwinds.
