The Kingdom of the Asotans or Azud was a country in Trans-Miraria from 1257 until 1825. The Kingdom was led by the Azud dynasty until the later 1600s when the country briefly went through an interregnum and subsequently appointed a member of the Court of Batan as king.
History
Secession from the Confederation of Lenezifą
The Kingdom of the Asotans was a member of the Confederation of Lenezifą until 1257. King Kerova left the Confederation due to issues with Ascelan and his attempts at centralization.
Capture of Solama
During the Azud-Lenezifą War the Asotan navy laid siege to Solama, an important trade region of the Confederation of Lenezifą.
Joining the Alotol Confederation
King Kerova petitioned to join the Alotol Confederation in x to protect the country from future conflict with Lenezifą. The kingdom was allowed to join the Alotol Confederation as long as they paid taxes and leased ports to Setole, the highest ranking member state of the Alotol Confederation. Although King Kerova was reportedly concerned about these terms, he was assured in the 12XX Alliance between the Trans-Mirarian States that the Kingdom of the Asotans would maintain its full autonomy and never be forced to join a federation with any of the other members. This treaty played an important role in the Dissolution of the Alotol Confederation and the creation of the Crowned Republic of Asota.
