Otofu (pronunciation: /ɔtɔɸʊ/) is a city district in the oblast of Toşe in Yakormonyo. It served as the capital of the nation since 1565, replacing the old capital, Oni.
Etymology
The word Otofu came from 'Oto Upu'; Monyo 'oto' (water, colloquial) and 'upu' (of, archaic), together 'of the water'. Eventually, it was shortened and became 'Otofu'.
History
