Otofu (pronunciation: /ɔtɔɸʊ/) is a city district in the oblast of Toşe in Yakormonyo. It served as the capital of the nation since its founding date, 1565, replacing the old capital, Oni.
Etymology
The word Otofu came from 'Oto Upu'; Monyo 'oto' (water, colloquial) and 'upu' (of, archaic), together 'of the water'. Eventually, it was shortened and became 'Otofu'.
