Rovenia (IPA: /ɹoʊviniə/, Dezaking: Rovunug, IPA: /ʋovũn̪ũɢ̊/), officially the Rovenian Union, was a country located in northeastern Baredina, which is now part of Congaval. It is bordered by Garohe by water to the west. Its previous neighbour by land, Madinia, is also now part of Congaval.

Etymology

"Rovenia" came from the Dezaking word for the country, Rovunug, which came from the founder, Rònèsòi, and the word for country, "Vunug". Rovenia was originally called the Madim Union (Vágož Màdim), for the historical name of the region, Màdinò, but people preferred Rovenia.

Sometimes, especially in Madinia, Rovenia is known as "Cobena" or "Cobenug" (Dezaking: Kobónug). This came from the country formerly located where Rovenia is now, also called Cobena. The name "Cobenug" is a portmanteau of Cobena and "Vunug", which is Dezaking for country, to differentiate it from the city called Cobena.

History

Rovenia formed in 1911 when the king of Cobena, Ronósou, came to an agreement to unite Cobena, Mirozda, and Evanja, three countries that shared close languages and history. Rovenia, and the predecessor countries, always stayed mostly isolated until more recently.

In 2017, Evanja, most of Mirozda, and parts of Cobena seceded and formed Madinia.

Politics

Rovenia traditionally had two major parties: Isibán (Liberal), and Usopapo (Conservative). However, other parties are popular.

Government

The government of Rovenia is split in four divisions: Executive, Legislative, Judicial, and (unnamed).

Executive

The executive branch is made up of the two presidents and their cabinet. Each president serves one 6-year term. There is a presidential election every 3 years. The current presidents are Eñqáká Lajana Uovga Kas from Cobena and Uaduna Soluš Qízik Ekàt from Evanja. The reason this happens is because people in Rovenia feel that having two presidents creates a balance and neither get too powerful, and have 6-year terms so there isn't constantly an election.

Legislative

The legislative branch is made up of the Representative House. Every county elects two representatives, and every territory elects one and the house elects another, with the elected representative's vote counting as 5 votes.

Judicial

The National Court is made up of 7 judges, two from each region, and one more to break ties that is elected by all 4 branches of government, with the judicial branch's votes counting as 5.

(Unnamed)

The (unnamed) branch is made up of the bureaus of Rovenia and run individual . It is led by Xasomup "Xasom" Suluš Igene Ebénc.

Administrative divisions

Main Article: Counties of Rovenia

Rovenia is divided into 13 counties, each split up into a total of 115 municipalities. From north to south, the counties are Far North, Close North, West Coast, Gisen, Unon, Asakuno, Aluma, Pikaen, Close South, Cobena, Far South, Ritsae, Far South, and West Dezaking.

Counties vs. Territories

There are little differences between counties in territories. Territories are usually larger in area, smaller in population, and mostly rainforest. Legal differences are that territories elect one representative and the house elects another.

Foreign relations

Before 1911, modern-day Rovenia was mostly isolationist, and stayed neutral on most things. After 1911, Rovenia decided to be a little more into foreign relationships, but not much. It tries to make friends, and stay out of conflict.
