History
Pre-Tujuan
Before the arrival of the modern Tujuan's Sanju-Jutean ancestors from continental Lahan the Tujuan Archipelago was inhabited by the indigenous Tujuans. Not much is known about the origins of Tuju's indigenous peoople, on theory is that they are a Sanju-Jutean people themselves, possibly closely related to the Kawuiians, who may or may not have shared a recent common ancestor with the Tujuans on the continent before migrating to the archipelago and splitting off into a separate branch. Other theories propose that indigenous Tujuans are descended from Lahiri settlers, from pre-Sanju-Jutean settlers from Lahan (possibly to escape Sanju-Jutean or Lahiri invasion) or from Shekku.
Arrival of the Tujuans
In (year) Sanju-Jutean settlers arrived on the islands from Lahan. Gradually over a duration of over 100 years they mostly displaced the indigenous population through conquest and assimilation, although pockets of indigenous Tujuan populations still exist to this day especially in the far north. Due to isolation from the mainland Lahan and influence from indigenous cultures, the Sanju-Jutean settlers developed a distinct culture from the other Sanju-Juteans and their language diverged into the ancestor of all modern Tujuan languages.
