The etymology of 'Asota' is debated by many linguists, however, it is believed that it comes from the now-extinct Vorelic - 'Had Soetha', meaning low-lying land.
Kingdom of the Sebanons
Asota's proximity to the [tbd] Kingdoms lead to its incorporation as a member of the Alotol Confederation on 8 January 1392. During this period Asota - particularly today's Republic of Asot - was represented in the House of Status by the Lord of Manov. Asota remained in the Alotol Confederation until 1825 when the Kingdom of Sebanon and the Kingdom of the Asotans merged and formed the Kovat Kingdom of Asota.
