The Bethalon Institute of Technology (BIT, Lithian: Kamaiko Arijama i-Bethalon, or shortly Kaibet) is a private research university located in Bethalon, Thercein, Lugida. It is one of the largest and the most prestigious universities in the country.
Kime Kham founded BIT in 1880, mainly in response of the increasing industrialization of Lugida following the Lugid Revolution and the formation of the First Republic. Kime adopted a modified form of Ekuosian university model and have the university focus on fields of applied science and engineering. During the Great Ekuosian War while under Imperial rule BIT was taken over by the government and the university's graduates were recruited to the Army or hired by military industries to aid their war effort. Having sustained damage from the Battle of Natlia, BIT was rebuilt and recovered after the war to its original pre-war state.
BIT is traditionally known for its research and education in engineering, and more recently known for its entrepreneurship culture. Through its alumni and their founded companies, BIT began to gain significant fame during the 1960s. Some of the notable alumni include entrepreneurs Kalon Hephilam, (), and (), alongside scientists like Parsafi Dirom and Din Sato.
