Calutia, officially the Calutian Empire (Calutian: Gkáluźigkeŋ Kaluśa), is a landlocked country situated in the Miralayan mountain chain of Miraria. It has seven states, the capital and largest city Pashakare in its own autonomous state of the same name. It borders the Thumish Union to the west, Dapencher to the southwest, and Korihim to the northeast.

The main language spoken in the country is Calutian and its dialectal variants, although minority languages are also spoken. The country has a population of 3,991,235, almost all of which are ethnically Calutian. As of late, Calutia has also been a supporting ally of Balakia in the Balak-Gushli conflict.

History

Before the first dynasty of Calutia, there only existed some clans and settlements. There had been attempts at forming a government that were more than just the town it held. That all changed when a wealthy man actually succeeded in uniting the clans.

951-708 BCE: The Kahán Dynasty

The Kahán Dynasty was the first of its kind to rule a sizeable amount of land. It had gone through a passage from father to son until the last emperor died without any sons, only daughters. (Daughters didn't get to rule until the Monsen Dynasty)

National symbols

The Calutian Banner (Calutian: Kaluśen Jokelt) is the flag of the Calutian language and the country of Calutia. Its white represents the sky, snow, and peace, the black stands for the Tarnteǝ Mountains, and the red stands for the strong will and spirit of the people. In the centre of the flag lies the national emblem made of two semicircles, representing the balance of good in white, and evil in red. Both halves border a smaller, whole circle representing the unity of the people and the inevitability of a world of one nation and all men.

Administrative divisions

Calutia is split up into sixteen states, plus the capital Pashakare.

Demographics

Calutia is an almost completely homogenous country, with virtually everyone, except for a small percentage of Vaniuans, Rartakans, and Cathanis, being ethnically Calutians. The country's religious makeup is made up of a large majority of Hetuumists which consist of 71% of the population, followed by Zarasaists at 18%, and people of traditional religions or other smaller religions at 8%.

These are only a few of the empire's languages, there are a lot more in the Miralayan mountains and plateaus that haven't been recorded.

For languages, Calutia is pretty diverse. From the Foncrollian in the southwest to the teeny isolate Doâaq, it is jam packed with lingustic goodness. Though even with these languages, Calutian is used as a lingua franca for the whole nation. The country almost homogeneously speaks languages within the Hedretic family. More recently, native speakers of Calutian had greatly risen, causing some of the smaller languages to die out. People had been protesting against this and to not make learning Calutian mandatory, but the government insists the country needs this, including the Prime Minister Citla Nokka who, despite being raised in a Galycan-speaking town, developed Calutian as her first language.
