Cuama (Riyan: //, Kwang: Kwã Ma /kwa᷄ˀ má/) is the capital and largest city of Riyana, located near the estuary of the Cuama River.

Etymology

The name Cuáma derives from Cuán Mrár ('group of the sea') which was the name given to the city by many people outside of it. It also had an ancient name Nievec (Riyan pronunciation: [nʲevek]), meaning 'god village', referring to the religious function the city was originally founded for.

History

Traditionally, Cuáma was founded in 2520 BCE as twenty tribes from the surrounded area came together and formed the Kingdom of Wa.
