Dāktū́vā (Cananganamese language: /da:kˈtu:ʋa:/) is the capital and largest city of Cananganam. The greater metropolitan area of Daktuva, referred to locally as Saḍbḗ or greater city, as the metropolitan area has over ten million inhabitants, making it one of the largest cities of the Naguan world.

Situated on a large gulf of the Izro Strait (the Dinatsre Gulf), city spans along a coastal plain across the Haltsra river which supplies much of the agriculture that has supported the city since antiquity. Along the core of the river plain lies the old city as well as the ancient citadel of Daktuva which used to house the warlords of the imperial dynasties of Cananganam, but is today used for religious tourism and the winter residence of the Emperor. The old city lies distinct from the new city as the old city housing has produced many colorful homes built in the style of the late imperial era, in contrast with the new city which surrounds it vastly with their more eastern style architecture, built to display Cananganam as a modernized industrial nation. As the capital of Cananganam, it is the focus of the political and administrative functions of the nation.

Etymology

The name Daktuva derives its meaning as the "City of Victory", as the folk story tells of the first Cananganamese settling the hills along the Haltsra. The story goes that when the Cananganamese arrived, another hunter-gatherer group inhabited the area. The Cananganam made a deal that they can keep everything within a "spear's reach" of them. A young man then devised an atlatl and upon the day of showing how far they could throw their spear, the spear flew many leagues and established the metropolitan area today, with the tribe respecting their deal.
