Durykia (Duryk: Tıv Duryk [tɯv ˈdurɪk]), officially the Duryk Republic, is a country located in Northwest Miraria, west of Ngeyvger and north of Qgam.

Etymology

The word Duryk refers to the ethnic group of the same name inhabiting the Duryk Archipelago. Where the name was derived from is still uncertain; however, it is a possibility that it was derived from the word dulëh, "cold."

History

Prehistory

The Durykian archipelago has been inhabited by early Alpans at around 400 BC, as suggested through DNA evidence. Due to the significance of seafaring in Duryk history and culture and through DNA evidence, anthropologists suggest that the Duryks traveled to Northwest Miraria through marine travel.

Climate

The country is usually hot during the summer, with temperatures peaking at about 28 to 30 °C (about 82 to 86 °F), and extremely cold during the winter, with temperatures reaching as low as −50 °C (about −58 °F). The east coast of Durykia is typically colder than the west due to winds picking up from West Miraria. Higher elevations are often warmer due to the effects of Temperature Inversion.

Being such a teacher was not a sole profession, however; several hunters, farmers, seafarers, and builders would hold regular community gatherings just to present what they have learned. Of şëşyr das usually grow more popular across the archipelago by travelling frequently around the nation and beyond it.
