Into the Sky (Ekuostian: sbiòdyebiòrut; IPA: /sbyːd̪jebjerud̪/) is a Barradiwan-Veridian historical drama film directed by Kotru Galbarím and written by Otímsu Yotrákár. It stars Nozrad Tienziü, Lúdvéc Zavé, and Sorju Nurukeks (among others). The film covers the lives of the climbers in the 1942 Barradiwan Xiamángmú expedition, depicting events both before and after the expedition takes place. Later events in the story also partly cover the Great Ekuosian War, particularly the Amalo Campaign and specifically from the points of view of both Eskumrád Enídbrád and Armij Darč.
The film was first conjectured by director Kotru Galbarím in 1988 in anticipation of the then-upcoming 50th anniversary of the expedition. Due to the high estimated cost and the limitations in technology at the time, the project was put on hold for several years. In 2011 Galbarím revived the project and in 2015 production officially started. To re-create the mountain, Galbarím employed computer-generated imagery and scale models, alongside overseas filming in Juhashka's Blue Mountains to represent the Miralayan mountains. With an estimated budget of $250 million, it is among the most expensive films ever made.
The film was first screened on 14 August 2017 to mark the 75th anniversary of the expedition. It received widespread critical acclaim from media publications both domestically and globally, with particular praise given to Tienziü and Zavé's performances, as well as the screenplay, direction, visuals, production design, and musical score. It broke numerous box office records upon its release, becoming the highest-grossing Barradiwan film of all time and the highest grossing film of 2017. It received numerous awards and nominations, including Best Film, Best Director (Galbarím) and Best Actress (Tienziü) at the Ekuosian Film Awards.

Critical response
Controversy
There has been some surrounding the film and its liberal depiction of the relationship between the climbers, particularly Enídbrád and Darč: the film portrays the two as star-crossed lovers doomed to separation via tragic historical events despite Enídbrád's frequent assertions that their relationship was platonic whilst she was alive. Many accuse the filmmakers of altering the dynamic between the two in light of Enídbrád's demise in 2012 shortly before the film was greenlighted by the studios. However, historian and biographer U. Rydlí has come to the filmmakers' defence, asserting that there is plentiful written and even photographic evidence implying a relationship between the two.
