The Lahiri languages are a language family consisting of several hundred languages and related varieties spoken in Lahan and in eastern parts of Puzimm. The core of the Lahiri family is well established, however, due to extensive contact influence with Asuranesian and Trans-Ebo-Puzimm languages and poor documentation on a large majority of Lahiri languages, the boundaries and overall membership of the family are uncertain and subject to much debate. There are, at present, over a dozen distinct proposals for the internal structure and membership of the Lahiri family.
