Liosol (<!--IPA: //, -->Liosolessa: Dan Lixosol<!--, IPA: //-->), officially the The Kingdom of Liosol, is a country located in the region of Soltenna in Miraria. Originally an island nation South of Miraria, Liosol has grown into a major world power spanning from Lake Soltenna to the Gelög Sea.
Liosol (Tyndal:Lnoecoli [ɲœ:toli] or Lnoecolhy [ɲœ:tojә]; Stoelec: Necola [netsola]; Hetanec: Luso [luso]), officially the Sovereign Kingdom of Liosol (Broad Tolec: Rmnat Lnoecolhy), is a unitary semi-parliamentary constitutional monarchical federation stretching from Lake Soltenna to the Gelög Sea. It is the motherland of the Alotol people, and many other non-native groups. According to the 2018 census, the population is 94,629,447, with 7.3 million of that number being residents of the capital and largest metropolis, Alotol City. The country is a member of the Soltennan Council, the Charter, and one of the founding members of the International Congress.

The Sovereign Kingdom of Liosol is one of the world's most developed and economically stable nations, with an HDI of 0.921 and a GDP of $2.61 trillion. Its financial opportunities and quality of life earned it a seat in the global financial organization known as the Global 9.
Etymology
Etymology
The name "Liosol" comes from the words "Lao Setole" which means "New Setole." There have also been claims that the name of "Soltenna" comes from a misheard form of the form "Setole." These claims are backed up by the existence of the massive Liosoglo Empire.
The terms "Alotol" and "Liosol" likely come from the Hetanic name for the Rietic people around Lake Soltenna, the Eslador. Respectively, the terms are formed (according to linguistic evaluation) as follows:

: Asledor → A(s)letor → Âlitov → Â(j)tuv<br>Asledor → A(s)letor → Âlitov → Â(j)tuv → Lejom + Â(j)tuv-da
Prehistory
"Soltenna", on the other hand, is believed to come from a Lnonicization of the Hetan term for the people, "esalzbane". This term was misinterpreted in Alotol writings, being written as "(e)salzbane" with the pronunciation of [sawtvanə]. Alotol now colloquially refer to the land as "Savton" [sawtɔ̃ŋ] or often just "Lnoecolhy".
Ancient Era
Island Trading
Between 40,000 BCE to 37,000 BCE natives of the island Setole engaged in trading with the early people's of present-day Soltenna and

Migration from Setole
While it is relatively unknown, most historians suggest the sinking of Setole happened sometime between the two major migrations to Soltenna with most settling on around 33,000~ BCE. At that time a great earthquake shook the island of Setole and surrounding areas, causing destruction all around. The famous poet wrote in 28,000 about the event:

The skies screamed and the waves cried as the earth tilted and Setole fell from her place in the sea. Not a day passed before the island had been recalled by the depths; her last people barely escaping.

Refugees from the Setole migrated from their island home to popular trading areas in Soltenna, trying to establish a new land.
History
Early History
Early Alotol civilization
The Northern Journey
The Alotol people migrated from Northwest Miraria (present-day Aquihia and Waytseia) to Northern Soltenna many years ago, most likely when the Gelög Sea was frozen. Most of the early outposts established in Northern Liosol were coastal ports but around 950 BC migration towards the warmer Central and South areas became more common. Archaeologist finds suggest that the first true 'Southern' - i.e., below the Ngonh River - establishment was built in 849 BC, around the modern-day city of Lanothi. Most villages were isolated during this period and few people traveled far from home, giving local tribal government the most power in the eyes of the people.
In an event known as "The Northern Journey" a large portion of the native Setolas began moving North along various rivers, reaching Lake Soltenna around c. 800 BCE. Those that stayed behind integrated into society and stayed in Southwest Miraria until the Letsatian Empire conquered the area. The Setolas' first interaction with Sitr people was peaceful and they were taught valuable farming techniques while there.
Ethnic changes
Unification
The Alotol people first formed a separate identity from their Rietic relatives around the early 700's BC. The reason for this was because early contact with the Malas and Hetan peoples and the marriages between the groups. Recent finds have revealed that the Methic Empire also played a role in the Tolec race, with citations of meetings between officials of the two nations as early as 583 BC.
From c. 713 - 620 BCE Sitr peoples were assimilated into a fast growing Alotol society.
Lnon dynasty
First Kingdom
Setoel
In 438 BCE, General Tola was crowned king of Liosol. He, along with his army, established outposts around Lake Soltenna and on the Setole River.
The Kingdom of Setoel, which was founded by the Lnon Dynasty circa 437 BC, is thought to be the earliest 'Alotol' civilization, stretching from modern-day Alotol City to Lake Soltenna. The Lnon Dynasty fell after the assassination of the king by Lnon Gollan, his own son. After Belfan (Alotol City) was taken from the Kingdom of Setoel by the Kingdom of Laio, Lanothi was established in the North as the new capital of the Kingdom of Setoel.
Laio Lnon
Laio Lnon, or simply Laio, broke off from the Kingdom of Setoel in 121 BC, inhabiting the lower Alotol River and modern day Alotol City.
Pseudo-Hetanic Kingdom
Alotol Confederation
In 1253 AD, the Kingdom of Setoel (the largest of Northern states) established itself as the Alotol Empire. As time went on individual state joined the Imperial Confederation and created the as a defense against the invading Western powers. Attempts to reach out to vassal states such as Malas ultimately failed in this early period, although the nation did manage to liberate some of the North of the country.
The Charter
In a last attempt to keep its imperial legacy in tact and to help its "most favorable neighbor", the Alotol Confederation entered into an union with Methinaqh known as the "Charter for Economic & Cultural Cooperation in the Two Noble Kingdoms."
Liquidation of the Confederation
In 1803 AD, after the 550th anniversary of the confederation was celebrated nine referendums were held to decide the fate of the country. It was argued that states could exit now that the Imperial Age was over, but some of the early states now felt tied, politically and culturally, to Liosol. A few countries left, but most of the empire retained her former territory. The Alotol Confederation had devolved into the Kingdom of Liosol.
Constitutional monarchial era
After a military coup that killed Antol the II occurred in 1831 the kingdom entered into an interregnum period. Every political faction fought over the future of the country until it was decided that a central monarchy could no longer work. While the nation was a confederation it worked well because there were multiple kings conveying in a court and there was no central place of power. After thinking long and hard the government decided a parliament would be wise as a somewhat feasible replacement to that system. A monarch and prime minister were elected together in the year 1840.

Deunic Crisis
:Project Badol
The Deunic Crisis was spurred by former LEUNA agent Deun Agore's release of thousands of classified documents on Athe. Of these documents Project Badol was the most controversial. It's contents claimed that Liosol had aided in the assassination of Gushlia's Sagam II. Pra Densok and other opposing parties demanded that Prime Minister Goe Jegan step down or the next election be moved up. The House of Status voted to move the 2020 election to 21 March, 2019. Election results declared D Kunaso winner of the election. Shortly after, however, he was assassinated after meeting Goe Jegan. Chancellor of the House of Status Eul Lana became Prime Minister of Liosol after Goe was incarcerated and the government began investigations into possible election meddling that led to a Kuelist majority. Pra Densok, a popular candidate representing the Hansobel Party, claimed to be the rightful winner and held an inauguration on (n/a) - declaring himself the first President of Liosol. Eventually, the two Houses reconciled and Eul conceded that the Kuelist Party rightfully won the 2019 election.

Government
Liosol boasts a thriving Constitutional Monarchical system, led by a vast array of parliamentary elites.
:Politics of Liosol
Liosol is a semi-parliamentary system. The incumbent King is head of state but effectively has no power, shifting it to the Prime Minister (along with his cabinet) and House of Status. These two political bodies are voted upon by the people of Liosol every five years. The Prime Minister selects his own cabinet while the House of Status, which is the nation's legislature, is divided up, not by provinces, but by the enumerated votes of the Alotol people. Currently, the Alotol Kuelist Party (FGL) has a majority in the House os Status, making Liosol's current administration a predominately leftist one.

Administrative divisions
Parties and elections
Liosol is made up of thirty-eight provinces divided between seven different administrative zones referred to as "republics." The Northern territory is the only seperate entity in the country that does not have any official government over it but laws of the capital still apply there. There are four municipalities, the biggest of which is Jotue, the capital.
:List of political parties in Liosol
Liosol is currently made up of five recognized political parties. This number, according to housteofstatus.info.ac, is reached by winning at least 20 seats, two election cycles in a row. The House of Roses lost its status as a recognized ballot party in the 2019 election. According to statistical data run by the (), the Alotol Kuelist Party is currently the most popular out of this number. Alotol election season comes only once every five years. A prime minister is elected during this process and the House of Status is appointed by the collective party votes of Liosol's population. The rest of the upper house is selected by the winner of the election. The next election has yet to be scheduled.<br><br>The current Prime Minister is Pra Densok.

Foreign relations
Foreign relations
Liosol maintains relatively peaceful relationships with its Northern neighbors thanks to alliances established via the Charter. The country also participates in the Soltenna Council and is a founding member of the International Congress.

Military
Military
Liosol laws bans conscription, all members of the military forces must be voluntary in peacetime.
Military of Liosol
Liosol currently has one of the biggest military budgets in Soltenna. Although the government does not publish documents detailing the military, it is rumored the nation has upwards of 530,000 active servicemen, and between 400,000 to 600,000 in reserves. Despite this high number, Liosol has not been officially involved in a war (as defined by the nation's constitution) since the '50s.

Liosol accepts Hux Kham citizens to join the military forces of Liosol; however, in practice, only females in Hux Kham join military forces of Liosol, as Hux Kham law bans males from serving in foreign military forces while there are no regulations for females.
All students are required to serve a minimum of 16 months in military service before acquiring a full-time job. This law has caused recent controversy, especially after the Helsonian Collapse and Qonklese Crisis. Most nationalists consider military service to be a civic duty, while others believe it is a form of discrimination. Activists have tried to overturn this ruling on three separate occasions—the last being in 2008—but were outvoted each time.

The Doelen
:The Doelen
The three cities of Banelkan, Lanote, and Alotol City are the most visited areas of Liosol, garnering in an average of 12.3 million tourists a year. Collectively the government and the people of Liosol refer to this area as the "Doellen" or "Triangle".
Banelkan
Believed to be the first Alotol settlement in upper Soltenna, the ruined city of Banelkan now serves as a fascinating peace of archaeological evidence. This area does not boast a great population as the other two cities in the Doellen do, but it makes up for it in the amount of scientific endeavor that are undergone there.
Lanote
Lanote's nearly five million residents are known for their great knowledge and devotion to their country. Once known as the "intellectual capital of the middle kingdoms", this city is home to the largest library in Soltenna and, possibly, Sahar. Lanote is also well known for the large amount of expats living in it and it is often referred to as "Soltenna's City". Another nickname for it is the "City of the Crown" due to it's status as the legislative and monarchical capital of Liosol.
Alotol City
Alotol City boasts both the title of executive capital of Liosol and the highest population center with a population of 7,392,684. This city is referred to as the "seat of government and the arts", since most officials and La Pop singers live here, although the latter have begun to move closer to Lanote now.

Ethnic groups
Ethnic groups
Traditionally, Liosol is said to contain four great and diverse ethnicities: Tolec or Alotol, Hetanic, Malasic, and the Gelög peoples.
Alotol
The Sitr are people who inhabited the west-southern regions in prehistoric times. They built some city-states in ___ BCE. Rietic peoples entered (Southern) Liosol later on, and they co-existed with the ruling Sitr. Given Rietic influence, as they (to be exact, "ethnic Liosolis") became the ruling class in c. 600 BCE, change gradually happened and Sitr got (partially) assimilated in terms of culture into these (ethnic) Liosolis. Values of Sitr culture were (partially) carried over to the culture of (ethnic) Liosolis, such as (insert example here).

Etymology

The terms "Alotol" and "Liosol" likely come from the Hetanic name for the Rietic people around Lake Soltenna, the Eslador. Respectively, the terms are formed (according to linguistic evaluation) as follows:

Asledor → A(s)letor → Âlitov → Â(j)tuv
Asledor → A(s)letor → Âlitov → Â(j)tuv → Lejom + Â(j)tuv-da

"Soltenna", on the other hand, is believed to come from a Lnonicization of the Hetan term for the people, "esalzbane". This term was misinterpreted in Alotol writings, being written as "(e)salzbane" with the pronunciation of [sawtvanə]. Alotol now colloquially refer to the land as "Savton" [sawtɔ̃ŋ] or often just "Lnoecolhy".

History

Early Alotol civilization

Ethnic changes

The Alotol people first formed a separate identity from their Rietic relatives around the early 700's BC. The reason for this was because early contact with the Malas and Hetan peoples and the marriages between the groups. Recent finds have revealed that the Methic Empire also played a role in the Tolec race, with citations of meetings between officials of the two nations as early as 583 BC.

Lnon dynasty

Setoel

As time went on individual state joined the Imperial Confederation and created the gontei as a defense against the invading Western powers.

A monarch[1] and prime minister[2] were elected together in the year 1840.

Deunic Crisis

Government

Liosol is a semi-parliamentary system. The incumbent King is head of state but effectively has no power, shifting it to the Prime Minister (along with his cabinet) and House of Status. These two political bodies are voted upon by the people of Liosol every five years. The Prime Minister selects his own cabinet while the House of Status, which is the nation's legislature, is divided up, not by provinces, but by the enumerated votes of the Alotol people. Currently, the Alotol Kuelist Party (FGL) has a majority in the House os Status, making Liosol's current administration a predominately leftist one.

Parties and elections

Liosol is currently made up of five recognized political parties. This number, according to housteofstatus.info.ac, is reached by winning at least 20 seats, two election cycles in a row. The House of Roses lost its status as a recognized ballot party in the 2019 election. According to statistical data run by the (JANI), the Alotol Kuelist Party is currently the most popular out of this number.

Alotol election season comes only once every five years. A prime minister is elected during this process and the House of Status is appointed by the collective party votes of Liosol's population. The rest of the upper house is selected by the winner of the election. The next election has yet to be scheduled.

The current Prime Minister is Pra Densok.

Foreign relations

Liosol maintains relatively peaceful relationships with its Northern neighbors thanks to alliances established via the Charter. The country also participates in the Soltenna Council and is a founding member of the International Congress.

Military

Liosol currently has one of the biggest military budgets in Soltenna. Although the government does not publish documents detailing the military, it is rumored the nation has upwards of 530,000 active servicemen, and between 400,000 to 600,000 in reserves. Despite this high number, Liosol has not been officially involved in a war (as defined by the nation's constitution) since the '50s.

Population Centers

The Doelen

The three cities of Banelkan, Lanote, and Alotol City are the most visited areas of Liosol, garnering in an average of 12.3 million tourists a year. Collectively the government and the people of Liosol refer to this area as the "Doellen" or "Triangle".

Banelkan

Believed to be the first Alotol settlement in upper Soltenna, the ruined city of Banelkan now serves as a fascinating peace of archaeological evidence. This area does not boast a great population as the other two cities in the Doellen do, but it makes up for it in the amount of scientific endeavor that are undergone there.

Lanote

Lanote's nearly five million[3] residents are known for their great knowledge and devotion to their country.

Traditionally, Liosol is said to contain four great and diverse ethnicities: Tolec or Alotol, Hetanic, Malasic, and the Gelög peoples.

Alotol

The Alotol makes up the biggest portion of Liosol's ethnic groups. The name originates from the Chanlosol words for 'the people.' Roughly 63% of Liosol identifies with this group while in reality, only about 48% of the population is true-blood Alotol.
