Litene (/ləˈteɪn, -eɪŋeɪ, -eɪŋə/; Itongpe: Litēne [lɪ˨ꜛte:˥˧ŋɜ˨]), officially the Kingdom of Litene, is an island nation in Eastern Asuranesia in the Asura Ocean comprising more than 500 islands, atolls and islets - of which xxxx are inhabited - amounting to a total land area of xxxx km2 (xxxx sq mi) scattered over xxxx km2 (xxxx sq mi) of the eastern Asura Ocean. Litene's closest neighbours are Hangai and xxxx to the north, xxxx to the east and xxxx to the west.

Litene is an archipelago of more than 200 major islands. The furthest island is xxxx. The seven major islands, Apa, D'an, 'Alai'i, Ba'a, Asri, Kai'e and Pla'ni account for 82% of the total population of 323,890. The capital, 'Lostitpa on Apa, serves as Litene's principal cruise port and centre of industry. Approximately 75% of all Litenese people live on Apa with tourism and sugar cane farming being the major industries. The interior is covered in forests and grassland and has been left largely untouched in the north of the island, although the area surrounding the capital has suffered from major deforestation over the centuries.

Litene has a fairly developed economy for an asuranesian nation due to the abundance of forest, mineral and fish resources. Today. the main exports are its tourist industry, and sugar and fish exports. The country's currency is the xxxx. Litene is a constitutional monarchy that blends a Dhweran system of government with native meritocratic and tribal elements.

The majority of Litene's islands were formed through volcanic activity starting around xxxx million years ago. Geothermal activity still occurs today, particularly around the islands of xxxx and xxxx. Litene has been inhabited since the first millenium BC and was first settled by Asuranesians of the Marianic branch. Dhweran traders visited Litene from the xxxx century, as did xxxx (Shohuan?? Terminia??). The islands were first united under the independent Sunrise Kingdom c.xxxx before evolving into the modern day Kingdom of Litene.
