Classification
Lyuman is a Coastal Lahiri language in the Eastern Insular branch. Its closest relatives can be found along the coast and islands close to mainland Lahan. It is noted for having an exceptionally isolating morphology among Lahiri languages, even among Coastal Lahiri languages.
History

Luyman has an archaic phonology. Most consonants have stayed very similar to their Proto-Lahiri counterparts.
