Creation Myth

There are many different interpretations of the Mijist creation myth, the most traditional one of which is shown below.

"In the beginning, there was only the Sun and Moon. Infinitely far from one another, neither knew of the other. Lonely, they both began to search for anyone else in the emptiness. After millions of years, they found each other and were overjoyed. They instantly fell in love, and began to move towards each other. But when they moved closer, the Sun burned the Moon and the Moon chilled the Sun. The pain was too much for them to be together. So, they each took a small piece of them and sent it into the space between them, where it merged and became the universe. Stars began to fly out from the center, filling the night sky. All that remained was the world. Then, the Sun and Moon began to revolve around the world, the Sun heating one side and giving it day, the Moon chilling one side and giving it night. When the Sun touched the cold night and the Moon touched the hot day, it was almost as if they felt each other without the pain. This balance gave rise to life on the world, and soon humanity began to appear."
