The Koman Ministry of National Security (Koman: . Khoman Şahedar Yahəş Mazajam . Khoman Şahedar Yahəş Mazajam) is the primary intelligence agency of the Imperial State of Komania and a core member of the Imperial council of ministries. It is better known as SHASHMA and sometimes as SHAYMA. The ministry is considered to be one of the few "sovereign" ministerial bodies of Komania, due to its nature and tasks at home and abroad.

SHASHMA is primarily notorious for being one of the largest if not the largest intelligence agency in operation within Vaniua, counting with around 40,000 estimated employees, where at least 4000 have been confirmed operating in neighbouring countries and abroad. The agency has been noted for orchestrating the attempts of 2 consecutive coup d'etat in Torosha, the assassination attempt of 3 Shomosvani leaders, propaganda and indoctrination campaigns in Gushlia, continuous backing of Zarasaist insurgent groups in neighbouring countries and the systematic killings of Kuulist terrorists in Bohazad. The agency is also renowned for its "re-education" campaign launched in the early 1980s with the introduction of labour camps throughout Komania, later on targeting both Balaks and Komans who were considered "indoctrinated" by the Kuulist government of Shomosvan.

Most of SHASHMA's operations and campaigns are fueled by black-market income and the sale of military equipment, which a considerable portion of Komania's GDP derives from. Since its expansion in the 90s, the Koman government has sought to bring SHASHMA as the main operator behind the black market and clandestine activity of Vaniua, facilitating the control of illegal products and operations even if against the Koman "Act of Immorality and Foreign Idolatry" enacted in 1989.

History

Due to the lack of reliable information, most sources are often acquired through foreign investigations and limited information provided by the Koman state. It is known however that the ministry is a successor of the former Ministry Of National Intelligence established in 1936 initially to protect the emperor from possible threats. Continuity between both organisations is rather unclear, while SHASHMA does have elements from said organisation, the initial purpose for the establishment of such an agency has been largely amplified. The ideology shared by both organisations are clearly similar, with procedures simultaneously alike, however, attempts to reduce such elements as to avoid sabotage and infiltration have been made several times, with the purge of more than 5000 members in 2009 as a result of a security breach in the organisation.

SHASHMA mainly operates under the guise of "security police" within Komania, where public agents are often seen wearing black vestments and a red armband including the agency's logo. Said police may notify central authorities of misconduct or suspicious behaviour, from which a manual of targeted behaviours is known to be used. Their purpose, when deployed in public, is often unclear, but collaboration with the religious police is well known. Although both agencies may share similar goals, the security police of SHASHMA mainly operate for security purposes, unlike the Vice police. Under the Act of Security of 1980, it is illegal to take photographs or collect data concerning the security police or any government agent whatsoever.
