Natlia (Lithian: [natli.a]) is the capital and the most populous city of Lugida, being located partly on Cape () and on the Lenthiri mountainside. Natlia is part of the Nagidan metropolitan area, whose urban agglomeration of 24 million people is one of the largest on Sahar.

Natlia was initially built as a fishing settlement, and was expanded into a city during Letsatian rule. Through extensive silver mining on the mineral-rich mountainside, Natlia grew quickly to become one of Lugida's trade centers, with its historical zenith during the Four Swords period. The city went a period of economic decline following the dissolution of the Four Swords on 1731, and has suffered extensive damages from the Great Ekuosian War. The city later recovered and grew rapidly following the war.

Modern-day Natlia is a global city, with the largest metropolitan economy in Soltenna. It has grown rapidly following the Lugid economic boom in the mid to late 20th century, contributing to its metropolitan area's large GDP of around $1 trillion. Natlia boasts as one of the leading technology, cultural, and tourism hubs of Sahar, being the headquarters to Lugid conglomerates such as Wilith and Mitsetale.

Etymology

Natlia comes from the Lithian words natlan "Sun" and the derivational fia "of", literally meaning "of the Sun". This name has become the subject of multiple metaphors due to its vague direct meaning. Public consensus prefer the meaning "the rising sun" for Natlia, while other meanings such as "the city of the sun" is also used but are rare outside literary contexts.

Economy

Natlia is the business and financial hub of Lugida. Despite having only around 0.1 percent of Lugida's land area, Natlia and its metropolitan area contributes to almost half of Lugida's nominal GDP. Service sector accounts for half of Natlian economy.

Natlia experienced a rapid rebuilding and economic growth from the 1960s, after sustaining severe damages from the Great Ekuosian War. Centralization of economic growth to Natlia caused large Lugid companies to move to the city in order to take advantage of the city's better access to the government. Through centralization and Lugida's export-oriented economy, Natlia later went on to become Soltenna's international financial center since the late 1960s amidst competition with other Soltennan cities such as Bosato and Cuáma.

The city's economic growth is challenged by increasing living costs, population density, and high real estate prices, thus inviting economic competition by other Lugid cities like Kirni and Dalshabet.
