The National Democratic Party is a Cananganamese political party and opposition party to the Kuulist Agrarian Party. Sometimes referred to as Khudhavit in media, the party is current in coalition with the Agrarian Party and the Pan-Naguan Unity Coalition, whom together obtained over 64 percent of the results and 63 of the 100 total seats in the 2018 Parliament Elections. The party's main policies involve conservative and self-described "soft-nationalist" stances.

Founding

After the civil war's conclusion in the early 1930s, a new constitution was formed and with it a new parliamentary system was to be formed. In early 1933, the NDPC was founded as a broad coalition of center-right constituents known instead as the National Democratic Coalition (NDCC). This coalition would manage to obtain only 14.51% of the vote in its first election but would later become a strong contender to the Kuulist Agrarian Party, with both becoming consistent major factions within Cananganamese politics.

Policies

The NDPC has several key policies; its most important being the idea of a "Lunukist Democracy", where the nation is to be ruled under the Emperor but with maintaining the current electoral affairs of voting for a party rather than specific individuals. In addition to this, they support the idea of a laissez-faire economic system, with limited to no economic intervention on intranational markets, but with strong tariffs on goods from international markets. This view on economics has alienated working class voters within the larger cities such as in Daktuva, where many benefit from international trade and business, though they hold a strong sway over the middle and some of the upper class of Cananganam, as their policies benefit the mibhasas significantly. Since the 1970s, however, the NDPC has accepted some policies of welfare such as public schools, healthcare institutions, and intra-city transportation.
