Foreign relations
Riyana is a part of the Union of Šarkunen Nations, meaning it has peaceful and friendly relations with many neighbours and other surrounding nations who are also a part of the union. In addition, Riyana tends to uphold a defence-only policy towards conflict, meaning it holds neutral relations with almost all countries and only acts with conflict in response to a necessity for defence.

Energy
Riyana relies heavily on renewable energy to provide power to its homes and businesses. As of 2013, 79% of electricity was generated via hydroelectric, wind and solar power. This is largely part of a plan set out by Riyana in 2002, which aimed to have Riyana non-reliant upon fossil fuels for its electricity by 2016. So far, it has been very successful. The Riyan government is now also talking about shutting down nuclear power plants, which make up another 14% of electricity production, in favour of building more renewable energy sources.

Tourism
Tourism is a large trade in many parts of Riyana which receive lots of tourism, such as the capital city Cuáma. Tourism is common from other countries in Šarkunen, however Riyana also receives many international tourists.
