The Roquto peninsula, more often referred to simply as the Roquto, is a peninsular landmass in eastern Boroso. On land, is connected to the Borosan mainland only by the narrow Moqto Isthmus.
Name
The peninsula is called Roquto in Thaaft, which is an early loan from Boorian Ras Ghudoai ("Qadd's land"). While the common name is derived from Thaaft, the majority of its fals inhabitants speak Haralic, in which it is called Mešxarid (Harid-land), from a former fals civilization that inhabited the peninsula.
In Akiaian and Arvian Karakat, it is called Uranhë Cxëvd and Wuranahö Tsaxöft ("long hills") respectively.
In East Qazan and Kalda Qazan, the northern parts of the peninsula are called Keheśek and Narańśa respectively, both carrying the meaning of land of the whales. The name for the entire peninsula is known as Urancot in both East and Kalda Qazan, loaned from the Karakat languages.
