Cardinal: fardeu (pl.)
Ordinal: fardeu (sg.)
Adverbial: fardeuþo, filekgyë fardeu

Etymology

From Atruozan färë ("eight") + deu, effectively "eight twos". This occured at sometime between Middle Atruozan and Atruozan, potentially under influence of zuþoi, hence the vowel harmonisation observed.

Pronunciation

  • (Northern Translira, Northeastern Nolcik) IPA(key): /fɑrdɜʊ̯/ [fɑrd̪ɜʊ̯]

Numeral

fardeu

  1. sixteen
.wä öyavzuu þüƀä gnomulcadörg yã goaŕofñödadörg da imrusgyö fardeu.
.I saw sixteen homes while standing on the highway.
  2. sixteenth

Usage notes

Used adjectivally, where numerals behave as adjectives and are the closest to the noun of any present, the noun must be plural for it to express the cardinal meaning. Else, it represents the ordinal numeral "sixteenth". It is generally represented in writing by its numeral glyph, represented in romanisation by "G" (as the system is vigesimal).

Synonyms

  • (Dominant, Eastern Transliran Coast, Northern Insular Osteria) giñin
  • (Southern Translira, Central Translira, Southern Osteria, Southern Nolcik) vüzzãi
