Cardinal: vlirnta (pl.)
Ordinal: vlirnta (sg.)

Etymology

From Middle Atruozan lirnta ("fourteen"), likely loaned from a minor dialect of Ärinäs. The initial <v> was most likely added through analogy to vüddai, vühø̃, etc.

Pronunciation

  • (Translira) IPA(key): /vlirtnɑ/ [vliɹn̪d̪ɑ]

Numeral

vlirnta

  1. fourteen
    .skẽzoñöda dö ignüiz vlirntakö keuđuomeu.
Fourteen dolphins play in the sea.
  2. fourteenth
    .tä tøcwegata vlirnta grodöñöda goisã.

Inflection

Usage notes

Used adjectivally, where numerals behave as adjectives and are the closest to the noun of any present, the noun must be plural for it to express the cardinal meaning. Else, it represents the ordinal numeral "fourteenth". It is generally represented in writing by its numeral glyph, represented in romanisation by "E" (as the system is vigesimal).

Synonyms

  • (Eastern Fjordlands, Southern Translira, Insular Osteria) vüggin
