Taeras (IPA: /teɪ̯rəs/, Native language: Taeras, IPA: /t̪ɛɾas̪/), is an island off the coast of Edievia, in the Colian Bay, an extension of the Dragon Sea. Long a bastion of Aligian culture in Edievia, Taeras is one of the few portions of the country that has a higher percentage of Aligian speakers than Edievian ones. Known for its natural beauty and calm weather, Taeras is a quiet vacation destination.
Etymology
'Taeras' is a borrowing from Aligian 'terasu', literally "island".
