Why? Then I know you're listening to me!
Modern Thargun still retains many ideals instilled in them from the Dachashk ruling and completely despises and opposes other ideals. Thargian citizens despise humans, but respect them under the law (which is mainly in place to appease Cinriza and Esaam to the north). In contrast, Thargians despise the idea of a monarchy and have a board of 8 members know as the Estates Generals. Half of the estates generals will always be female dalars while the other half will always be male dalars. Each General is elected by their province (of which there are 8), and the provinces take turns with who must elect a male General and who must elect a female General.

Most Thargian dishes are nothing special, just the food that peasants during the reign of the Dachashk Empire needed to get by, typically rice with fermented whale, fish, or game. The highers-up, however, feasted on luxurious meals of Thargian, Qotsian, and Dachashki origins. These meals consisted of a variety of meats and seafood spiced with native spices (typically sealife) and imported spices from Qatilluu, Thla Ngai, and the Empire, typically supplemented with homegrown rice. (Rice is the staple grain in Thargun, as opposed to bread like in Europe, and is found in nearly every dish.) A favorite and staple seafood is whale, which is served boiled, fried, and fermented. Fermented whale is made in two ways: buried with spices and a certain type of fungus into the ground just before the freezing season or spiced, salted, and hung to air out near the start of the warm season. Meats typically consist of freshly caught game, so whatever was caught was eaten. Favorites consisted of venison soups and fried (whatever bird is on Atsiq).

Thargun (Thargian: Flájfggaj /fʟɐjfgːəj/), officially the Thargian Union, is a country located on the west shore of Atsiq, west of  Dachashk, north of Qatilluu and Qotsia, and south of Cinriza.

History

Modern Thargun is a fairly new country, having only existed with its current borders for around 55 years. For centuries, Thargun was a part of the Dachashk Empire. In 1834, Thargun and Qotsia won their war for independence and united as their own country (similar to Czechoslovakia on Earth). Thargo-Qotsia (name pending) prospered for around 130 years before separating into modern Thargun and modern Qotsia. Thargun and Qotsia share a long history with each other, even before being united.

These meals consisted of a variety of meats and seafood spiced with native spices (typically sealife) and imported spices from Qatilluu, Thla Ngai, and the Empire, typically supplemented with homegrown rice.
