The Summer without Roses is an Alotol alternate history drama television series. The series is set primarily in a post-war Soltenna where the Unity powers have won the Great Ekuosian War and become dominant powers of the world. It is based on the 1989 novel of the same name.
Plot
Overview
Season 1
The Alotol soldier Eul Segan woke up from a coma and found the world he knew completely different. The first season centered on his PTSD and memories of a war he fought in ten years earlier. 1952
Season 2
Euldanh found Taipa in a hospital after the Qonklese-backed Sitr air-raid on Lanothi. The remainder of the season focuses on their journey to Yena Basin.
Season 3
The third season began two years after the main characters' resettlement in Yerlan and centered around the growing conflict on the coast. Instead of focusing on Soltennan politics this season opened up to the broader post-war world, with particular interest in the Terminian Dominion.
Season 4:
Ci Khâw became the new leader of the Qonklese Empire. In order to appease his unwilling subjects he began a new war with Liosol by illegally occupying lake Soltenna.

Season 8
Season 8 was announced early in 2018 but no official release date has been made. Qonklese-Alotol actor Wy Batanh, aka "Ci Khâw", told his followers on Ajhi that this would be his last season, leading to rumors of the show's end.

Controversies
Many critics have complained that the show is too violent in nature. Producer Reth Betani told fans in an interview that "most of the horrors seen on screen are taken from actual real-life accounts of Unity aggression."
