The Summer without Roses is an Alotol alternate history drama television series. In the series set primarily in post-war Soltenna, the Unity powers have won the Great Ekuosian War and become dominant powers of the world. It is based on the 1989 novel of the same name.

Plot

Overview

Season 1

The Alotol soldier Song Euldanh woke up from a coma and found the world he knew completely different. The first season centered on his PTSD and memories of a war he fought in ten years earlier.

Season 8

Season 8 was announced early in 2018 but no official release date has been made. Qonklese-Alotol actor Wy Batanh, aka "Ci Khâw", told his followers on Ajhi that this would be his last season, leading to rumors of the show's end.

Controversies

Many critics have complained that the show is too violent in nature. Producer Reth Betani told fans in an interview that "most of the horrors seen on screen are taken from actual real-life accounts of Unity aggression."
