Thuutia (Native language: Fthyyydh, IPA: /fθyːːð/), officially the Thuutian Republic, is a country located in Parshita, marking the transition between Parshita and Vaniua. It borders Jeehoop, Amaia and the Thumish Union. It is a rich and developed country, known for its rich background as a merchant-run state. It was for centuries considered the gateway netween Vaniua and Parshita, and as such controlled the flow of trade between the two subcontinents. Its most famous tourist attraction is the Gates of Faoghydh, a massive stone gate erected to welcome travelers and to symbolize the transition between Vaniua and Parshita.
It is also known for its unique "monarchy", whose figurehead is known as the "Trade Prince" and is not an hereditary position, being instead chosen the richest person in the country for the position. The Thuutian people are very proud of their merchant background, and a common nationalist belief is that these merchants single-handedly funded the empires that conquered the area (although in reality it is more likely that they took advantage of their conquests to grow richer).
Thuutia's foreign policies are heavily focused on keeping peace, as they have become fierce supporters of pacifism, and defend diplomacy and trade above all.
