The Vanoshan Space Agency (Vanoshan: Posis Ružme Vnosši; Posis Ružme Vnosči), officially known as the National Societies for Space Research (Vanoshan: Ǩenposiþ Ružmoseza; Śenposić Ružmoseza) is an agency belonging to the Vanoshan Army of the Interior focused on coordinating all Vanoshan space programs with scientific and commercial goals. Established in 1958 before the height of Lenezi-Vanoshan economic-technological cooperation, the agency has since become an autonomous agency within the VAI's functions focused initially on atmospheric research and engineering capable of functioning past Sahar's exosphere, but has become a blanket operation for all matters technical involving outer space and satellite technology.
History
In the early to mid 50s, Vanosha and Lenezan were recovering from their own internal crises. In response to the growing threat of a technological gap between Vanosha and Khezan, the Vanoshan Space Agency was formed as a means to maintain an inherent prestige and military advantage over Khezan. Premier Sanceč Vobosov Osičev, heeding the advice of his advisors, re-organized the voleneps from engineering focused industrial communities into research centers meant to collect the most educated researchers of the nation into unified areas. On July 7, 1958 the VSA was formed and the first launch sites were prepared for expanding the testing of both military and peacetime research assets.
The first satellite built under the program was launched in 1961, named Aveśe-1 (little friend) meant to measure the exosphere of Sahar. The launch was a success and new understandings of the challenge of bringing their first crewmen to space were underway. In 1972, the first manned mission was finally launched after a series of setbacks with calculating the orbit necessary for a two week mission. The three astronauts involved would be two Lenezians and one Vanoshan. The two Lenezi astronauts selected were Have Urimašeir and Izo Doruimuršeir; as for the Vanoshan astronaut, Azavian Mareśe Voklč was selected. The two weeks for the mission were cut short to 8 days due to an issue with one of the computers on board, where the mission was to end with an uneventful landing in the Gulf of Sharkunen. All three astronauts were brought to Ihana and Istore to participate in homecoming parades for the three astronauts.
Plans for landing on Kun were shelved in favor of more affordable programs of terrestrial planetary study on Aten and Nienna throughout the later 70s and 80s. With the decline of Vanosha's economy, space exploration was mostly shelved in favor of maintaining a satellite communications fleet and improving the nation's military missile programs.
