Ziathi (Kavahiri Ziawi, /ʝi.'a.θi/ ; Adzamasi Ziiþi, /ʃi:.'ðɪ/) is a a large city in northern Tabiqa and the capital of the Kasingadh province. It is near historic centre of the Kavahiri Kingdom. In recent decades it has become known as a tourist destination due to its iconic and innovative architecture.
Etymology
Ziathi comes from Kavahiri zia-wi, clear water, referring to the lake on which it is situated.
History
Ziathi is relatively near the site of the earliest human remains known on Sahar, which were discovered in Ebo Nganagam. There is evidence that the site has been inhabited at least irregularly since prehistory. The Kavahiri Kingdom which existed from BCE 980-340, before falling to the Adzamasi Empire, was mainly situated in the Kasingadh lakes region.
Since the formation of Tabiqa, Ziathi has enjoyed an economic boom, followed by a population explosion.
