Garohe (IPA: /garohe/, Modern Garuhish: Gueruh, IPA: /gə'ɾuhə/), officially the Democratic Republic of Garohe, is a country located in the region of Puzimm, east of Congaval. Garohe is known for being highly interested and invested in the fields of science and technology; it is also home to the Jutean-Garuhish creole, natively: Tavï Öräkiä ër; it used to have a monarchy, this monarchical period gave rise to much of the nation's modern cultural traits.

The country's name comes from early Proto-Garuhish "Gren zukh'il" (IPA: /gɾen zukʰil/), which roughly translates to "the land of the people".

The country is comprised of two major islands: Akuvi and Onakia. there are other smaller islands around these as well. There are a couple of mountains and high points, but most of the land contains rivers, lakes, rainforests and grass plains.

There is a mountain range, although quite small, located along the northeast section of the island, hevily covered in foliage. These mountains contain deposits of metal ore, that have been exploited by natives since tribal times, and the eastern area of Akuvi was used as the capital for the early days of the monarchy in Garohe.

The grass plains in the island are complemented by a large number of marshes in the areas between the rainforest and the plains, as a sort of transitional area between the two. These marshlands are used as farmlands for certain plants, and as fishing areas in the clearer waters.

The beaches in Garohe have mostly tropical white sand, though towards the northeast, the sands transition into black sands, due to the presence of two major volcanoes in the area, which, although now inactive, were active enough in the past to create the dark colored coastlines. Deposits of clay, limestone, obsidian and basalt can be found throughout the beaches.

Rivers and lakes in Garohe are freshwater bodies of water, and are the main sources of fishing outside the marshes and the ocean, with these yielding mostly average sized to smaller fish, marshes mostly shrimp and small fish, and the ocean crustaceans, squid, molluscs and larger fish.

The islands are located in a Tropical Rainforest climate, with precipitation being commonplace during the winter seasons, and a warm, sunny environment during summer and spring with less intense rains. Winds aren't generally strong, however, hurricanes are prone to appearing near the surrounding ocean during winter.

Some of the most iconic animal life in the country is present in the seas surrounding the islands; they are home to sealife such as the coconut crab, several species of octopus and squid. Dolphins and swordfish are also present.

Land animals include alligators, crocodiles, monkeys, snakes, parrots, seagulls, among others. Several species of shrimp are located around the marshes and some rivers of the islands, among other species of freshwater fish.

Multiple types of berries and fruit are native to the islands as well, the most common of which is the coconut, however, dates, acerola and others are also found. Other fruit, such as bananas and mangos are also frecuently encountered. Sugar cane is a largely cultivated crop, although it is not native to the islands.

Science and technology

Garohe is well known for having a very high interest in the fields of science, such as Chemistry, Physics and Genetics; as well as in different technologies.

Ethnic groups

Garohe is mostly filled with native Garuhish population, mostly along the center and southern parts of Akuvi, although there is a very large number of people with Jutean background on the Island of Onakia.

A large number of tourists and immigrants are seen alongside the northern parts of Akuvi and on the smaller islands adyacent to it, mostly people coming from the countries along the southern Püzimm coastline.

The official langauge of Garohe is Modern Garuhish, which is a synthetic language, with a free word order and 8 grammatical cases. There is also a regional Jutean-Garuhish creole spoken in the west island, sharing much of it's vocabulary with Jutean.

Garohe originally followed a polytheistic religion, centered around the (no name) pantheon. The practice of this religion is mostly confined to a small minority within Garuhish territory, as most of the populace have adopted the nearby major religions in the area.

The modern culture of Garohe was the result of both the monarchical period that the country went through, and the moral code and values of their previous tribe-like organization; the curious drive and the selfless behaviour of Garuhish people are some examples of this.

The Garuhish people are very respectful but reserved, and somewhat "cold" individuals; however, they are warm towards foreigners and are generally happy to hear of any kind of international recognition.

Garuhish people are also known to be extremely curious and hard-working. Any topic that they haven't mastered suddenly becomes their main obsession and point of interest; thriving for understanding and, in most cases, perfection.

Festivities in Garohe, although small in many areas, are very lively and energetic. Alonside the main purpose of the festivity, have it be a celebration towards an important figure, or an important date, all festivities include a sort of "talent show", where anyone can participate in music, dance, graphical arts, among other disciplines. The audience will then choose the winner and a crown of flowers will be given to them. This custom stems from the ancient selection process of tribe leaders, where the most artistically adept would be chosen as ruler, as ancient garuhish people believed that art was a representation of knowledge, although, general knowledge about science and skill in more mechanical areas was, and still is, seen as an artform.

Once the monarchy was introduced in Garohe, unifying the tribes, the custom was maintained, although a more rigorous version, due to the responsibility of ruling over not one, but multiple tribes. Around this time, after the many attempts of overthrowing the king, most of which were succesfull, another trait that was required for a ruler was to be benevolent, humble and to be able to place the people's wellbeing above everything else.

Inspired by the authors of classic (pantheon) myths, most of Garuhish literature falls under the sci-fi, fantasy, mystery and detective genres.

The Music scene in Garohe is mostly ruled by Punk Rock, although Ska Punk, Pop Rock, and Pop music are also predominant.
