Kudzatia (Language: Country [IPA]), officially the Kudzat Republic, is a country located in central Ekuosia, bordering Barradiwa to the north and east, and Tabiqa to the southeast. Kudzatia is situated entirely within the Ekuosian Desert, and less than 20% of its total land area is developed or privately owned. Despite being a major exporter of fossil fuels, Kudzatia has one of the weakest economies in Ekuosia.
Kudzatia is a unitary presidential republic. The executive branch is separate from the bicameral legislative branch, which consists of an upper house known as the Chamber of Chiefs, and a lower house known as the Chamber of Citizens.
The Democratic Party of Kudzatia is by far the largest political party in Kudzatia, and is most powerful in rural areas and among middle class voters. The Democratic Party has always held the office of president, as well as more seats than any other party in both chambers. In some instances, the Democratic Party has held a plurality but not a majority of seats in one or both chambers.
Kudzatia is divided into eight provinces. In every province, land is divided into two categories: municipalities or public trust territories. Public trust territories, covering over three quarters of Kudzatia's land area, include federal infrastructure, nature preserves, and land considered uninhabitable. Permanent residency and commercial uses such as retail are only permitted inside municipalities, barring extreme circumstances.
