Balâhak, born Tamäğsim, was the founder of the Tamaghid dynasty and first Great Khan of the Kothlen Horde.

Following his conquest of the Kaatian Empire in 823, Balâhak converted to Zarasaism, in exchange for the title of Defender of the Faith. With this new title he succeeded in numerous subsequent campaigns to convert his remaining Iovist subjects.

Balâhak died of [cause] in his palace in the Kothlen capital Kenkaþiþa (now Kojarâ, Balakia)
