Basthan (Bomhani: Bómaná [bumɐnɛi]), officially the X of Basthan, is a country located in Northwest Ekuosia, bordered by Galadros and Cerman. The country has many ties in history with both Cerman and Utol, with both Utol and Bomhan sharing common history in the form of Termic migrations to mainland Ekuosia, and the Bomhani language being part a broader dialect continuum with Utoyyi. Bomhan has not existed in any independent form until the modern day, following its liberation from Galadros after the Great Ekuosian War, and the borders between what is considered traditionally Utol or Basthan being highly ambiguous, and tainted by conflicts between Galadros and Terminia. The country of Basthan itself has its origins in the Grand Duchy of Bomhan, a title underneath the Kingdom of Galadros along with the Kingdom(?) of Kedros; which was formed after the conquest(inheritance?) of Basthan after years of squabbles between Galadros and Terminia. While not as influential as Kedros in the union, Basthan enjoyed significant status in the unified countries, as the X dialect of Bomhani was made an official language of the union. X

The name "Basthan" derives from the language of somewhere and it means something.
History
Terminian settlement
Initial settlement of Terminian peoples began around the 1st century and was focused mostly around the northern coast. Much of the initial settlement was contained to small trading outposts along the outer coast, while the interior remained majority Letsic. Over time, as trade under the Letsatian Empire flourished, the population of these trading outposts grew into various cities, and began to slowly integrate or displace the Letsic peoples living there. These trade cities would become but a small part of the larger Terminian network that formed during the later centuries of the Letsatian Empire.
Collapse of Letsatia
After the collapse of the Letsatian Empire in the 6th century, the northern coast of Basthan became a squabbling group of divided city-states. These states eventually fell under the influence of the First Terminian Empire, and would eventually be subsumed by the Second Terminian Empire.

Bomhani is a Termic language that forms a broader dialect continuum between it and the neighboring languages of Utol, with the X dialect being considered the standard. This stems from it being chosen as an official language of the Kingdom of Galadros in X.
With the standardization of Bomhani in X, local dialects and languages have gradually began to fall out of favor in Northern Basthan, as the standard is the language of schooling and government in Bomhan. X
Galadrosi is a Letsatian language that is spoken along the southern coast of Basthan. Since the Union with Bomhan in the 1Xth century, Galadrosi has been regarded as the language of prestige within the country. Though this status has gradually declined over the years as a result of the Kúúlist Union of Basthan, significant portion of the Bomhani population also speaks Galadrosi to some extent.
