only people who are famous in real life can be added? --K1234567890y (talk) 14:15, 30 October 2015 (PDT)

Well, it's easier to add pictures of famous people, especially if there's a Wikipedia page for them (since copyright and privacy is mostly a non-issue with Wikipedia's Commons system). I would say you can upload pictures of non-famous people too (ie. yourself, a friend, or just some really random picture you found on the internet), so long as you have the proper permission to do so (so either copyright permission and/or identity release permission) I'm no admin however, so I'd wait to hear definitively from them :p -- ManOfZeLego (talk) 14:35, 30 October 2015 (PDT)
This doesn't have anything to do with copyrights, or who you can add. The point is to add people who are known and can be easily found on the internet in order to prevent duplication. If a person doesn't really exist on the Internet (generally Wikipedia), then there's no point in adding them since it is unlikely that someone else would claim the same person. Ah yeah, that is true, but to be also clear you shouldn't upload non-famous people's pictures on the internet without permission (since it's just kinda a dick move and potentially illegal in certain cases) :p ManOfZeLego (talk) 14:44, 30 October 2015 (PDT)
Yes but that's not what we're here to deal with or take care of. Ashucky (talk) 14:48, 30 October 2015 (PDT)
But the original question was if only famous people could be added? ManOfZeLego (talk) 14:53, 30 October 2015 (PDT)

To avoid controversy, I think I should only use photos of famous people currently...By the way, I have another question, is it ok to do some photo manipulation, like changing the background, and then upload the manipulated photos?--K1234567890y (talk) 02:52, 31 October 2015 (PDT)

Anyone can be added to the list, but there's no point in adding unknown people since the chance of someone else claiming the same person is pretty much zero. And yes, you can do whatever you want with any images you upload, there's no rules regarding that. Ashucky (talk) 04:47, 31 October 2015 (PDT)
is it ok to add unknown people without listing them? or real life people uploaded should be listed?--K1234567890y (talk) 06:46, 31 October 2015 (PDT)
