Darkinic languages are typically fairly analytic, with very little grammatical inflection. However, much of the native vocabulary was derived with extensive use of affixes.
Verbs do not typically conjugate; tense, aspect and mood are indicated by means of auxiliary verbs.
The languages typically confirm to V2 word order or some modification therof. There is a tendency toward head-final structure, including postpositions and clause-final conjunctions.
Nouns and pronouns have no inflections or gender.
