Dzar (pronunciation: Qgam Dzwo /d͡zʌɻ/) is the seventh largest city in the Democratic Republic of Qgam, and the third largest in the province of Sqeay. It has a population of 160,462 (2017).
Etymology
The name Dzar means "green" in Qgam Dzwo. It is likely a reference to the grassy landscape.
History
Geography
Dzar is located in the rain shadow of the Ikrem Mountains, and receives somewhat low rainfall. It is surrounded by grasslands.
Climate
Dzar has a subarctic climate, it has cool summers and harsh winters. As it is somewhat less affected by ocean temperatures, Dzar may experience extreme temperature variation in both summer and winter, with a record high of 33°C in July, and a record low of -48.1°C in January.
