Jálawk Makene Afarmerhrw (Fáknir: /jau̯ˈɫawk makɛˈnɛ aˌfarmɛrˈxrʋ/, commonly known as Jálawk Spákdo; born March 30, 1944) is a former Fáknir politician and statesman from Kelpus, Lower Fáknirland.

Spákdo is recognised as being the most important figure in the civilian Fáknir independence movement that later resulted in the 2017-2019 Fáknir civil war, which culminated in the declaration of independence of the Fáknir Republic.

Life

Spákdo was born into the Maken family of Kelpus, a remnant of the former Fáknir Empire's low ranking noble class of Esadids. Regardless of the family's unrecognised noble status within the Fals Empire, their industrial holdings in the area ensured that he was raised in relative affluence.
Friction between him and his parents caused him to distance himself from his family at the age of 24, and he adopted the common surname Spákdo. While he has repeatedly stated to care little about his noble status, it has contributed to his popularity among the Fáknir population to this day, especially conservatives.

Spákdo was a recognised member of the Fáknirland provincial government in the Fals Empire for decades, having served as High Elder for the last 25 years of his career. Among other reasons, his support of autonomy for Fáknirland and later influence in bringing about the Fáknir separatist movement caused him to become undesirable in the eyes of the Imperial government. Once he was dismissed from office by Emperor Vaykir, his esteem by the Fáknirland government was such that the relationship between Fáknirland and the Imperial government broke down immediately. The removal from office of the highly publicly approved political leader incensed the by then already well-established separatist tendencies and caused the Bastoori uprising almost immediately afterward, which was the first major act in the Fáknir civil war. Spákdo was considered a wanted criminal in the Fals Empire from this point and eventually fleed to Pfahfá until the end of the civil war, after which the Empire dropped charges against him and declared him a persona non grata.

Spákdo was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2022.
