Kranxram ([kɹænxɹæm]), officially the Kranxramic State, is a country located in northern Ystel, bordered by Shelhania, Mermelia, and Lufasa. Kranxram is believed to have been inhabited since the year 25 CE, with the first chiefdom being founded around 480 CE. It remained for a long time a very strong kingdom, keeping one of the strongest militaries and highest population densities on Ystel. By the year 1840, the kingdom turned into a kxúindarcy, meaning it was led by an almost absolute monarch (called the kxúindar) that was democratically elected and could not inherit the kxúindarcy or reelect themselves; the latter one only having one exception. In 1953, however, Shelhania took control of Kranxram and integrated it into its Union without democratic consent; this is generally believed to be the result of a sale by Kxúindar Saxentúu. It still kept on having a strong economy even as part of Shelhania, being recognized as the most economically prosperous member of the Shelhan Union for all the 66 years is remained part of the union. On June 26, 2020, the Shelhan Union recognized the independence of Kranxram and endowed it with sovereignty. On its first anniversary, Kxúindar Éenkaya, the ruling kxúindar at the time, announced a new constitution that would turn Kranxram into a democracy, this being enacted in October 2021 when the first President was sworn in. The capital city of Kranxram is Kczúidata, and its biggest city is Entibal. It is known for many of the characteristics shared with modern North Ystel: liberal social culture, relaxed immigration policies (61% of Shelhan immigrants pre-independence immigrated to Kranxram), and urban lifestyle (only 18% of residents live outside the three biggest cities), differing however in economic policy as it trends towards libertarianism; which is in sharp contrast with Shelhania's socialist-trending policy. The Kranxramic language is the official language of the nation, however, the Kuene language is also partially recognized and widely spoken in cities like Kuenekáyá, as Kranxram took in many Kuene refugees while and after the Baronician Kuene persecution. It is well known by their acceptance of LGBT+ people thanks to its cultural perceptions of sexuality, which makes it the country with the most LGBT+ immigrants and highest openly queer population. It is also well known for being the birthplace of many iconic faces of the fashion and design industry, including Ísáunte Éuni and Annààkka Isádxam.
Etymology
The exact etymology of the name Kranxram is not certain, but the main theory Kranxer linguists hold is that it might derive from the Baronician word Kkòrhan ttsàn (in the team). This is, of course, unconfirmed and disputed.
