Etymology
History
Malasic migration
The Malasics are theorized to have originally inhabited the Southeast coast of the Gelög Sea, near the bay of Yerlan. Originally subsistence fishers, unknown circumstances caused a migration inland towards the Kethn River. The Malasics arrived in the area around modern day Malansi circa the 550s BCE.
Pre-empire
Before the rise of the Malasic Empire, the Malasics mostly inhabited cities along the Kethn river. These early Malasic cities were a mostly disunited patchwork of states, occasionally engaging in warfare with each other. These cities would also come under the influence of the Kingdom of Lorgung in Karduv, becoming tributaries and mostly subservient to the Karduvic state. This tributary relation would only last a few decades, as in 528 BCE, the Kingdom of Lorgung would collapse. The subsequent power vacuum offered opportunity for the various Malasic city-states to expand and grow their influence uncontested.
Empire of Malansi
In 6XX CE, X would declare the Empire of Malansi, after having conquered areas from the edge of the Kethn river to the coast near the Ganmas Sound. This empire would retain a small foothold of influence in northern Soltenna for over a century until the rise of the Zirjirng.
Subjugation by Zirjirng
The Malasic Empire would come into conflict with the expanding Kingdom of Zirjirng in Karduv over territories near the south of the Kethn River. The kings of Zirjirng were aiming to destroy the influence of Malansi in Soltenna, and become the sole dominant power in northern Soltenna. The Emperors of Malansi would resist these efforts, with the conflict sparking the X War. Malansi would lose the direct conflict with the Kingdom of Zirjirng, leading to a loss of territory and the subjugation of the empire. While the Empire of Malansi still retained nominal independence, their influence was shattered.
