Oswanukrama (Oswanukramese: oθwɑnukrɑmɑ [IPA]), officially the Nation of Oswanukrama, is a country located in East Alpa along the Southeastern coastline, with Sanmra bordering it to the west. Within its borders lies the Oswanuk mountain range. Oswanukrama covers an area of 115,517 km2 (44,601 sq mi), with a humble population of about 2 million. The capitol of Oswanukrama is Andvas.
Etymology
The word Oswanukrama is derived from the Oswanukramese word oswɒnukrɒmɒ, which is formed by compounding the words oswɒnuk "hill" and rɒmɒ "land". The word oswɒnuk is itself a diminutive form of the word oswɒn, meaning "mountain".
History
The ancestors of the Oswanukramese once lived in the Garsenian Confederation west of Lake Ani but then migrated toward the southeastern coast of Alpa in XXX BC. Many of these colonies were allowed a degree of independence in exchange for military service. However, the political institutions of the Garsenian Confederation began to weaken, and the coastal colonies began to vie for full sovereignty. In 22 CE, the Garsenian Confederation would collapse, ceding territory to the coast. The region of Oswanukrama was now comprised of various city-states, including the modern day capitol of Andvas.
