The Povan naming system (or more accurately, the Ledzib naming system) is the system of naming most commonly used across the Povan Union. While originally used by the Ledzib, a Neviric people, it's usage has spread to the other non-Neviric peoples of the area to varying degrees. Is closely related to the Neviran naming system, and despite evolving independently has had influences from the Neviran system itself. It consists of 3 main parts: the auspice name, the given name and the matronym.

Auspice name

Similar to the Neviran version, it is the name of a Biaren, theoretically free for the parents to choose. However, in practice, its origins are often either:
- An important place, or element related to the parents' lives. For example, such a name could be a derivation from 'flower' if both parents met in a flower field.
- Place of birth, or, less commonly, some important element (often related to nature) regarding the child's birth.
Other common names include something the birthing parent finds charming or beautiful. In general, auspice names are less 'random' than Neviran ones, as the parents try to bring the name as close to them and the baby as possible.
Methods for deriving auspice names are varied, although a common and fast method is changing a noun from the noun class it is in to the sacred class. For example, Altac'e (a city name) becoming Altac'in. Other methods include Neviric and Adzamic derived suffixes.
Traditionally, the auspice name was used to refer to unborn and newborn children.

Given name

Given names tend to be, albeit not necessarily are, compounds.
The first part can have varied origins. As expected, good qualities such as ‘et-' "Clean", Vojeŧ- "Thankful", Laxim- "Pleasent", Tahek- "Healthy" are common roots, but also nouns such as Ic'vit- "lantern". These do not need to be exclusively from Ledzib, as roots derived from Neviran (Šekiŧ-) and Adzamic (Nahden-) also exist, and in general are more prone to standing alone as a given name.
The second part is of variable length, and elidable, it is a word related to the gender of the child. Hence it is often added later into the person's life and can easily be changed. They are derived from qualities or elements related to a gender. For example, a benthe individual may have a given name Laxim with -mynä (from mynä "white" suffixed to form Laximynä. However, a Lethe individual may instead have -kese (from kesnej "green") instead.
On top of all of these, the human class suffix -(i)ŧ is added to make the name declinable. It can be added onto the bare name stem without any need for the compound part, often done with infant names.
On a colloquial context, it is very common to simply use the stem of the name, without any suffix, to refer to close friends.

Matronym

Just like their Neviran counterparts, the Ledzib have a matronym after their given name, separated by a particle which indicates if they were the first (ke), second (der), third (ra) or later (t'am) child of their family.
When the person is referred to by their full name, their given name is suffixed with -en on top of the human class suffix. This suffix marks the construct state, "[Given], 1st of [Mother name]"

Example

The current president of the Confederation is called Altac'in Ic’vitävinoŧen der Sinkäŧ
- Altac'in is the biaren of Altac'e, his hometown. It means 'fields of birds' - Ic'vitävinoŧ can be broken down into Ic'vit "torch, light", ävino is a verbal root meaning "to renew" (as repairing is associated with the lethe gender) and the afromentioned human possessed suffix -ŧen.
- der Sinkäŧ means he is the second son of Sinkäŧ.
