The Archlord (Ekuostian: erutsuaòt; IPA: /erud̪swɑ:d̪/) is a Barradiwan crime film directed by Obrosíem Yekáro and written by Otímsu Yotrákár. It stars Gerut Baláyos and Cestuosí Míasá (among others). Set in Barradiwa in the 1940s, the film's plot centers around an idealistic crimelord who runs a protection racket in Nunkes, believing he is doing good for the people of the city; he helps innocent civilians with their everyday problems and fights to bring down violent gangs that the police do not bother going after. This all changes when his less benevolent old boss is released from prison on very relaxed parole and seeks to reestablish her position in the ranks of Nunkes's criminal underground. This is further complicated by the arrival of a Dzimrani cartel seeking to set up shop in Nunkes as a strategic hub position for trafficking Caesillanian drugs to all corners of Baredina. Later on in the film, the Great Ekuosian War comes into play and changes the dynamic throughout the criminal underworld as new groups and new interests develop in the wake of the vast regional conflict.

The film is notable for having a complicated production history, with several producers nearly pulling out of the project altogether at numerous points due to issues inherent in filming such an ambitious motion picture, including fighting the waning censor agencies of the time. These issues led to the film having lackluster marketing; despite this, it went on to gross $207 million against a $7 million budget in 1972 alone, which was an unprecedented return in Barradiwan film history. The film went on to gross another $96 million worldwide and in home media releases. It is one of the most critically acclaimed films in Barradiwan film history, being one of the few movies to have a perfect 100 rating on numerous aggregate review sites.
